trueITpros geeks out for 2013’s latest device accessories

Entrepreneurial websites like Kickstarter.com are churning out smart device accessories like whipped butter. Talented visionaries are quickly augmenting technology with incredible accessories like the Pebble Watch, Wall-EE, and LifeProof.  A trendy maker of device accessories—BlueLounge—makes some of the most integrated solutions to the most common desktop conundrums. Which ones are worth the plunge? Keep reading to find out. We’ve ranked them according to awesomeness.

1. The Pebble Watch

Pebble Watch

This gem was a Kickstarter lovechild that earned more than 100 times their fundraising goals—a whopping $10 million—and for good reasons. The awesomely smart watch syncs with your smart phone for complete accessibility, no matter how full your arms are. The impressive paperwhite background alerts watch wearers to calls, text messages, and can even track your running habits. The Pebble will measure your pace, distance, and count burned calories. Do you spend lots of time on the golf course? Pebble features a rangefinder app that supports a catalog of 25,000 golf courses. The CEO plans to add new apps every 2-3 weeks, or you can build your own. The Pebble’s software development kit is available free to the public.

2. The Wallee Mdevice accessories

Not to be confused with the adorable Pixar robot, this upgraded smart accessory fits all the molds. This “why-didn’t-I-think-of-that” smart system does everything with one case. The folks over at Studio Proper updated the Wallee with aircraft grade aluminum for super lightweight handling. The Wallee M uses stock case and added device accessories like car mounts, mounting disks, and pivot stands. The M stands for magnet, which makes snapping your smart phone onto the car mound easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. Say hello to Wallee and goodbye to fumbling between multiple case fitting problems. This all-in-one smart accessory is a golden ticket to hassle-free computing. The Wallee M fits dynamically on your favorite devices, including: the Galaxy S3, Galaxy Nexus, iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, and the iPad.

3. Blue Lounge Desk Saversdevice accessories

The geniuses over at Blue Lounge produce fantastic device accessories for managing desktop clutter.  Their sleek and beautifully simple cord weights—called Sumos—grab small cords for easy plugging. They also offer cable boxes, cord clips, and wireless charging docks. Their stellar notebook kits attach to your laptops underbelly and elevate it to prevent overheating. Still not enough? They’ve designed their very own desk to perfectly accentuate their mind-blowing array of techno-gadgets.

4. LifeProofdevice accessories

Our friends over at LifeProof aren’t as accommodating as the Wallee when it comes to smartphone cases. This smart accessory will protect your iPhone or iPad from the harshest of life’s elements. The LifeProof case is dirt proof, water proof, snow proof, and shock resistant. Now you can snap underwater photos right from your mobile device. Beware—the case only supports waterproofing up to 6 meters, so no deep diving is recommended. Are you a water sport kinda guy? LifeProof suggests the LifeJacket float so your device won’t go all Titanic on you and disappear forever.
