Don’t be alarmed. Latest Microsoft Security Essentials Alert reports are fake.
In the last few days, trueITpros (Atlanta IT Consultants) have received several reports of a fake Microsoft Security Essentials alert that pops up in a browser window. It asks the user to download rogue antivirus software and does not allow the user to close the window.
If you have already clicked on the links and installed a rogue program, call trueITpros Support at 678-534-8776 or email us at support@trueitpros.com immediately!
What to do if you see this alert or any other suspicious activity:
- Do NOT download any software. Your computer already has antivirus and antimalware software installed.
- Press Control + Alt + Delete, and select Start Task Manager.
- In the Task Manager, select ANY browser windows that are open and choose End Task.

If you close the browser and re-open it and the fake alert pops back up, call trueITpros Support at 678-534-8776 or email us at support@trueitpros.com
