Dell Launches Project Ophelia, a portable Android-powered HDMI PC hub for your TV

With all of life’s new conveniences rapidly becoming staples, Dell’s new endeavor—Project Ophelia— is sure to convert buyers who are frequently on the go. The Dell team has always been a strong proponent for empowering its users with programs like the Dell Social Innovation Challenge. The company has always achieved high levels of customer engagement through social media. It is not surprising that the incredible PC stick makes traveling a breeze—not to mention, the Jelly Bean powered port requires no charging and fits in the palm of your hand. Simply plug Ophelia into your TV or monitor and go.

The evolution of smart TVs has brought the power of the web to your living room, but what about basic computing tools? Enterprise level executives who find themselves traveling more will be sure to explore this maximum portability solution. With the Ophelia, sharing presentations or slideshows will become a no-hassle experience.

Project Ophelia is unlike any PC hub to hit the market. The smart device serves as a portal to Dell Wyse, the company’s cloud hosting service. The Ophelia’s 8GB of stock Project Opheliamemory is expandable via a micro SD slot, though the cloud sync integration will leave users with endless room to grow. The microcomputer’s hardware specs set it above the curve of non-cloud-based models. Other microcomputers like FXI’s Cotton Candy lack the PC-to-cloud stronghold that has many techies thrilled about Dell’s latest brainchild.

The incredible new computing hub connects to HDMI inputs, making any monitor or television into a capable computing system. Cloud hosting means users can store as much media as they want without overloading the device’s internal storage. The days of hauling clunky laptops to family vacations can finally take a rest. Pictures of your family can be stored on Wyse and accessed through any TV for easy sharing. The Bluetooth ready plug will connect to a wireless keyboard and mouse for a completely portable and wireless solution for busy people the world over. Offered at a truly astonishing $50, trueITpros will be vigilantly awaiting Project Ophelia’s release. Too cool! Check out some of our other product reviews here.
