The TITP team would like to congratulate playwright Topher Payne on his Off-Brodway Debut!

“Mr. Payne is a deft and witty writer… A clever canape of a comedy. Ingeniously, he crafts the play’s opening scene in the mode of 1950s sitcoms like “I Love Lucy” that undergirded straight norms. Subsequent scenes puncture this false idyll, first playfully and then more soberly as the domestic fiction unravels.”
-THE NEW YORK TIMES
You’ve hit it BIG when the New York Times is talking about you! We want to congratulate one of our own, Topher Payne, on his recent accomplishment. His play “Perfect Arrangement” opened Off Broadway on October 15th. TITP owner Robert Kohl, and long-time friend to our very own playwright, went to New York the previous week to view the previews. Here’s what he had to say,
Hey Atlanta, I saw Topher Payne and Perfect Arrangement in NYC at The Duke Theater. Hot boys, sassy women, costumes beyond belief, and hats for days. It’s a funny story with a pointed commentary and an ending that just leaves you wanting more. Don’t miss your chance to see the “playwright of the South” make his NYC debut.” -Robert Kohl
