Wii Mini gaming ConsoleRumor has it that Nintendo has another gaming console to release this year.

Nintendo might drop a new gaming console, the Wii Mini, just in time for Christmas. The Wii U was released earlier this month with rave reviews and solid sales. Needless to say, talk of another gaming console being launched so quickly is shocking. Is the gaming industry trying to mass produce merchandise as frequently as other industries such as cell phones and laptops?

Best Buy Canada has a revamped, black and red Wii with a red remote displayed on the homepage of their website. Although the ad was placed on the company’s homepage in error, Best Buy claims the new Wii Mini will hit stores on December 7, 2012…but is that fact or speculation?

There is no mention of the new gaming console on the Nintendo website. Best Buy Canada has removed all traces of the ad from their website. However, an article from PC Magazine online (pcmag.com) supports the launch of the Wii Mini for $99 on December 7th; however, it is only in Canada. Forbes even weighed in on the subject, stating the ad on Best Buy Canada’s website is not just a leaked screenshot.

This is the real deal folks. The Wii Mini does not have Internet connectivity options nor does it have GameCube support; however, it is has all the functionality of the original Wii’s library. The Wii Mini is compatible with over 1,300 Wii games. Consumers can still enjoy popular titles like Mario Kart Wii or Wii Sports games. The Mini’s low cost of $99 is a fraction of the cost of other gaming consoles, making it a perfect family gift for Christmas. trueITpros has some gamers on staff and we want to hear from you. Is the Wii Mini on your wish list?
