Increasing Organic Traffic By Blogging

Increasing organic traffic can be done with (good) blogging.

Increasing organic traffic and blogging go hand in hand. Just as a refresher, organic traffic is free traffic to your site from search engines and is increased through good SEO and relevant content. Blogging seems simple enough. Add new content to your site on a regular basis. Make it at least 300 words, make it interesting and you’ll make it to the results page on search engines. It is tempting to leave it at that and keep writing. There is a lot more to consider if you want to run not just a blog, but a successful one. Here is a closer look at blogging from the trueITpros team.

The purpose of blogging should always be on your mind when you are writing. Your goal is increasing organic traffic. People want results that relate to what they are searching for, links that take them to the expected site, and content that is credible and not generated automatically with loopholes that attempt to trick Google into ranking your site higher. The way you write and structure posts should start looking different if those ideas are your foundation.

First, write new content. Don’t take old blogs and reuse them, or copy content from another site. Not only will you avoid things like Google penalties but your readers will recognize that you are trying to provide them with new and interesting information. Along with new content, practice good link building. If there is a relevant site  you found helpful, or your readers would find helpful, put a link to it in your blog. Second, don’t write for keywordincreasing organic traffic optimization only – write for people. Not only will search engines know you’re trying to cheat the system a little, people will realize you aren’t writing with them in mind and stop reading your posts. Even if you are blogging simply to increase traffic look at blogging as an opportunity. If writing the posts is necessary for increasing organic traffic you may as well use the blog to share interesting and relevant information about your product/service. Third, make blogging an inclusive process. Whether you’re a team of one or have multiple departments helping craft blogs, you have to tackle it from all angles. You need to include images with alt text and have been saved in a way that can be indexed by search engines. The URL should include the keyword and you have to make sure it isn’t broken and links to your site. If you think of everything included from robots.txt files to fixing code manually, “writing” blogs doesn’t do it justice. Good blogs are “created” and optimized from many perspectives.

Increasing organic traffic is an important part of creating a successful online presence. If you need help with the ins and outs of SEO, blogging and other aspects, call trueITpros at 678-534-8776 today.
