Tweeting for business differs from personal tweeting

Tweeting for business is an area of social marketing in itself. Since the dawning of Twitter, it has been clear that there are techniques for effective tweeting, especially if you are not well-known and trying to grow your followers. The approach in tweeting for business involves knowing your audience, knowing your brand and using your voice properly. trueITpros takes a look at how you should carry your brand on Twitter when tweeting for business.

tweeting for businessCreating Tweets: Writing a tweet is easy, true or false? Well it depends. A direct approach is the best route to reach your audience. You only have a short amount of characters to engage people, so your tweets should get straight to the point. The trick is to make your tweets interesting with useful content. Adding links or pictures are also helpful. The goal is to create tweets that will prompt new followers or retweets. Try writing multiple tweets to stay fresh. Who knows… you might start a new trend.

What’s Trending?: Twitter keeps you in the loop. Want to know what’s hot and what’s not? Check what’s trending on twitter.  It’s not all about entertainment; topics vary. News stories trend as people retweet them, so can your business. If your tweets are trending you must have awesome hashtags. Get information about your company to trend by choosing the right topics and providing updates through frequent tweeting. Stay trendy.

Who do you like?: Don’t arbitrarily follow people or other businesses on twitter. Follow your interests. It’s a great way to gain ideas and find solid content that relates to your business. You’ll find companies similar to yours will follow you and may want to network on other social pages such a Facebook and Google+.

So that seems easy enough. Be creative and concise, informative and fresh with your topics. You will grow your following online and in turn grow your business. Happy tweeting all.
